EGF Frequently Asked Questions.
The EGF Power Serum formula is more potent than the EGF Serum as it has a higher concentration of EGF.
EGF Power Serum is ideal for those already seeing visible signs of skin aging, including fine lines, wrinkles, loss of density, and uneven skin tone, whereas the EGF Serum is very well suited to maintain skin condition or prevent visible signs of aging in skin. Those wanting a more intensely age-defying product may therefore look to the EGF Power Serum.
The EGF Power Serum formula contains 2 growth factors (EGF and KGF) along with NAG for treating hyperpigmentation in the skin. The EGF Serum formula contains 1 barley growth factor, the EGF.
It is suitable for all skin types but ideal for dry and mature skin and those looking to intensely target visible signs of skin aging.
Both products deliver intensely age-defying benefits to the skin.
The EGF Power Serum can be used twice daily, throughout the year. The 30 Day Treatment is intended to be used for 30 consecutive days, as a boost to your regular skincare routine.
We recommend using the 30 Day Treatment when your skin needs a restorative boost, and then maintaining the results with the EGF Power Serum, ideal for your everyday skincare.
The EGF Power Serum formula contains 2 growth factors (EGF and KGF) compared to 3 growth factors (EGF, KGF, and IL-1a) in the 30 Day Treatment, making it our most potent product.
The clear, silky, and smooth texture allows the serum to absorb quickly into the skin without leaving a sticky residue. It is free from fragrance, parabens, silicone, gluten, and alcohol.
Yes, preferably day and night for maximum results.
We recommend using one serum at a time depending on age and skin concern. For added hydration and nourishment, we recommend using an occlusive moisturizer (EGF Power Cream or Hydrating Cream) on top of the serum if needed. The EGF Power Serum formulation is based on the EGF Serum, but more potent and targeted towards more mature skin, ideal for those looking to intensely target visible signs of skin aging.
Yes, the two products can be used together for added nourishing benefits and a more intense age-defying routine if needed (depending on skin type, season, etc.). The “Power” products are specifically developed for those already seeing visible signs of skin aging, including fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation. They work wonders on their own but are also suited to be used together as a Power skincare regimen. Therefore, we recommend starting with the EGF Power Serum and then layering the EGF Power Cream on top to securely lock in the moisture for maximum benefit.
Both Barley Beta Glucan, found in EGF Power Cream, and Barley KGF, found in EGF Power Serum, affect the skin barrier. Barley Beta Glucan aids in the skin barrier’s ability to seal in moisture whereas KGF helps keep it intact and healthy-looking. When used together, the EGF Power Serum and EGF Power Cream intensely affect the skin barrier by strengthening it and enhancing its ability to seal in moisture for added hydration to the skin.
By pairing NAG, found in the EGF Power Serum, with Niacinamide, found in the EGF Power Cream, you also visibly enhance overall complexion by targeting hyperpigmentation, evening skin tone, and increasing radiance.
EGF and KGF are growth factors known to assist in the skin repairing process. In addition to containing Barley EGF and Barley KGF, the EGF Power Serum formula is hypoallergenic and non-irritant. Therefore, the EGF Power Serum can be used after laser or peeling treatments. However, we would always recommend you consult with your dermatologist in advance.
KGF is known to promote and strengthen the skin barrier and make it more structured, by stimulating keratinocytes in the epidermis to affect production of Hyaluronic Acid. It has also been shown that KGF has oxidative properties and protects skin against UV-radiation.
NAG is a precursor to Hyaluronic Acid, so it is one of the building blocks of Hyaluronic Acid together with D-Glucuronic Acid – an active naturally found in the skin.
NAG (N-Acetyl Glucosamine) reduces production of melanin in the skin, thereby improving hyperpigmentation and skin tone.
